SFC Emcees are artists who have completed our artist development process and successfully finished Boot Camp. This process develops skill, leadership, discipline, and alignment with our mission.
Becoming an SFC Emcee means stepping into responsibility. SFC Emcees represent Soul Food Cypher in schools, institutions, performances, and public engagements where the organization is formally present.
They lead cyphers, receive paid opportunities to perform and teach, travel nationally and internationally, and receive investment into their own community centered creative work. They embody the mission and help carry it forward.
sfc originals
SFC Originals are the foundational generation of SFC Emcees who completed the process between 2012 and 2022. They helped build the structure and establish the standard for representation. The title SFC Originals formally honors their role in shaping the foundation of Soul Food Cypher.
sfc NEXT
SFC Next represents the generation of SFC Emcees who completed the process after 2022.
This is a generational distinction, not a hierarchy. Both SFC Originals and SFC Next are SFC Emcees. One built the foundation. The other is expanding it. Together, they continue the work.
