Regardless of this year’s presidential election results, America will be entering into a political era without precedence. For many Americans the biggest question will be “What Next?” For the second installment of Soul Food Cypher’s Politics as Usual, we will explore what’s on the horizon both locally and nationally, and discuss the power of the emcee and community to make their voice heard and count.
Politics As Usual, is a Pop-Up Cypher Event and Political Panel Discussion aimed to bring together local emcees, residents of the Old Fourth Ward, and elected officials to rap about what matters most to them. The ideal backdrop for this cypher? Stoney’s Barber Shop, located in the historical neighborhood that’s also the birth home of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
